The first training institute of Rajasthan Police was established in 1949 in the historic fort of Chittorgarh. In August, 1975 the institute was shifted to its present location at Jaipur and was upgraded to the status of an Academy. The foundation stone of the administrative block of this institute was laid on 24th October, 1975. The Academy was formally inaugurated by the then Hon'ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, on the 3rd July, 1978.

Rajasthan Police Academy is fully prepared and updated with the evolution of new trends & technologies. RPA has adequate infrastructure to train and develop competent human resource.

The emergence of computer and communication has brought major changes in our approach towards science and technology, eduction system, society, culture, values and way of life. The advent of internet and world wide web facility has squeesed the world with instant transfer of information and knowldge. world has become a home now.
Establishment of Computer Lab's
The computer lab was established in the Rajasthan Police Academy in the year 1999 and its training was commenced for the trainees. Rajasthan Police Academy is constantly doing Research & Development in various fields of Information technology. In addition to the above IT cell there are three Labs established (cyber lab, CCTNS Lab - I, CCTNS Lab - II). All Academy campus is connected by LAN & Administration block connected by Wi-Fi.

Rajasthan Police Academy, Jaipur desires to promote the health and wellness of its employees by incorporating a total Tobacco-free workplace. The Academy is now totally tobacco free. The health hazards related to tobacco have been well documented. |
These health hazards impact both the tobacco-user and the non-user who is exposed to secondhand smoke and the nuisances of chewing tobacco.
It is the intent of the Academy to provide all working, residing or visiting its premises with a work environment conducive to good health. This
has been possible with the help of American Cancer Society.
